Mission

We're a charitable apparel brand on a mission to raise funds for nonprofit veterinary clinics. We make comfy-as-heck apparel for animal lovers and donate the proceeds to nonprofits that help more families afford vet care for their pets.

There's three big reasons why we started a business to raise funds for nonprofit vet clinics:

  1. To help pets: All pets need & deserve medical care, but not all pet parents can afford it. Nonprofit, low-cost vet clinics help pets live longer, healthier, happier lives, with less pain & more good days

  2. To help people: Pets are family, and they bring unconditional love, joy, and companionship to our lives.Nonprofit, low-cost vet care makes pet companionship possible for more people, including seniors, veterans, the unhoused, and low-income families.

  3. To keep pets and people together: The rising cost of vet care is one of the top 3 reasons people are forced to re-home their beloved pets. Nonprofit, low-cost vet care supports people in keeping their pets, so fewer dogs & cats end up in shelters or in need of rescue.

Our Donation Program

Kitten recovering after spay surgery

We donate all net proceeds to nonprofit, low-cost veterinary clinics and programs, starting by automatically donating 20% of the total purchase price of every item sold on our online store to selected nonprofits.

The nonprofits we support provide veterinary care at a fraction of the cost of for-profit clinics, and sometimes even for free. These incredible organizations are the unsung heroes of animal welfare and public health, creating a safety net for more than 50 million beloved U.S. pets whose families cannot afford the high and rising cost of market sector (for-profit) veterinary care.

How our Donation Program works:

  • We automatically donate 20% of the total purchase price of every item sold through our online store to selected nonprofit, low-cost vet clinics or programs (processed through Shop for Good/Daily Karma Foundation). This is at no additional cost to shoppers. You can select one specific nonprofit to benefit from your purchase at checkout, or you can just allow us to split the donation between the nonprofits we support.

  • When we do pop-up events or markets, we may select additional non-profits as beneficiaries so we can help more organizations.

Donation Program FAQs

Which nonprofits do you support?

All our donations go directly to the Daily Karma Foundation, who then takes the donations and directs the funds to our chosen beneficiaries based on which organization shoppers pick. Currently we have two options for the automatic donation of 20% of online purchases:

  •  Emancipet: a national nonprofit on a mission to make veterinary care affordable and accessible for everyone, by building a network of low-cost veterinary clinics.
  •  The Direct Care Fund (a program of CARE): this program that provides direct funding to pay veterinary bills for low-income families who cannot afford the cost of care.

In addition to that, we support other nonprofit vet clinics with sales from pop up events or markets, and with any additional donations we make at the end of each quarter.

Do you donate items for silent auctions or nonprofit events?

Yes! We're happy to donate items if the event benefits nonprofit programs that provide free or low-cost veterinary care for owned pets or for community cats - email us at howdy@petrodeo.com with information about your event!

Can I suggest a nonprofit vet clinic or program for you to support?

Yes, please do! We are open to supporting any non-profit, low-cost veterinary care program or clinic, or any program that provides veterinary care to community cats.

One very important thing to note: we use the Shop for Good/Daily Karma app to process the 20% of online sales donations, so only nonprofits that are registered with their partner Change.io are eligible for that part of our donation program. Nonprofits can register with Change.io by "claiming" their nonprofit through this link

However, we support nonprofit clinics in other ways, too, for those that are not registered. We write a series on our blog highlighting the work of these amazing organizations, we can donate items for events, and we can add them to our list of organizations to distribute quarterly donations to, in the event we have additional funds left over. Please reach out to howdy@petrodeo.com with your suggestions or information about your nonprofit vet clinic or program.
